Request Data Deletion
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
Last Updated: July 11, 2026
WP Tailwatch LLC ("WP Tailwatch", "we", "us", or "our") respects your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to request deletion of your WP Tailwatch account and the personal data associated with it, what we delete, how we verify your request, how long it takes, and the limited information we may need to retain for legal reasons. For more on how we handle data generally, see our Privacy Policy at https://wptailwatch.com/privacy-policy.
1. How to submit a deletion request
To request deletion of your account and personal data, follow these steps:
- Email us at [email protected] from the email address associated with your WP Tailwatch account.
- Use the subject line "Data Deletion Request" so we can route it promptly.
- Tell us what you want deleted, for example your entire account or specific personal data, and include any account or site details that help us locate your records.
- Confirm your identity by responding to our verification request (see Section 3 below).
If you can still access your account, you may also be able to delete it directly from the account settings in the WP Tailwatch cloud dashboard or within the mobile application.
2. What gets deleted
When we process an account-deletion request, we delete or permanently anonymize the personal data we hold about you, including:
- Your account profile, name, email address, and hashed password;
- Connected-site configuration and the security or operational data tied to your account, such as scan results, firewall and login event logs, uptime records, and backup metadata;
- Push notification tokens registered to your mobile devices;
- Support correspondence and preferences associated with your account, except where retention is required as described in Section 5.
Deleting your account also disconnects your sites from the Services and stops all active monitoring, malware scanning, and protection for them. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
3. How we verify your request
To protect your security and privacy, we must verify your identity before processing any deletion request. We will never delete an account without verification.
If you submit your request by email, we will send a verification link or a set of confirmation questions to the email address associated with the account. You must click that link or respond accurately to confirm ownership. If the request is submitted via the cloud dashboard or mobile app while logged in, the active session and password confirmation serve as the primary verification.
4. Timeframe for deletion
Once identity verification is complete, we will process your deletion request within thirty (30) calendar days. In most cases, deletion occurs much faster. If your request is complex or we require additional time due to legal reasons, we will notify you within the initial 30-day window and explain the extension.
5. What data we retain
We retain certain limited records even after an account deletion request if necessary to comply with applicable legal obligations or protect our business. This retained data includes:
- Transaction and billing records required for tax reporting and accounting compliance;
- Documentation of the deletion request itself and our verification records to demonstrate legal compliance;
- High-level security or abuse logs if required to prevent ongoing fraud or malicious activity against our infrastructure.
Any retained data is strictly isolated, protected by advanced security controls, and kept only for the duration required by applicable laws.
6. Local Data on Your WordPress Site
Please note that deleting your WP Tailwatch account only removes data from our cloud servers. It does NOT automatically delete the local plugin data, logs, or backups stored on your own WordPress server. To remove local data, you must log into your WordPress administrator dashboard, navigate to the WP Tailwatch plugin settings, and select "Delete All Data" within the plugin interface or deactivation modal.
7. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this process or wish to check the status of an ongoing request, please contact us at [email protected]. WP Tailwatch LLC is a mobile-first WordPress security platform offering a native Android app, with an iOS app currently in development.
